WHAT ARE PUSH PLATES AND KICK PLATES?

Door plates, such as door push plates and kick plates, serve both functional and decorative purposes in a variety of settings. A door push plate is typically a metal plate installed on the surface of a door to protect it from frequent pushing or pulling, preventing wear and tear over time.

 

These door plates come in various sizes and finishes, offering both durability and aesthetic appeal. They are commonly used in commercial spaces, such as offices, hospitals, and public buildings, where high foot traffic is expected. PUSH PLATES

Push plates can be installed on the door stiles or where you push the door to open.  Push plates are perfect for commercial or residential applications to add durability.  Push plates are available in a many finishes, designs, and sizes.  We also offer custom push plates made to your exact dimensions.  Push Plates can be installed at the location your prefer, but recommended to be install at standard heights where a hand would be place on the door.  A door push plate finish is normally match to the door hinges, but door push plates come in a wide range of finishes.  

KICK PLATES

Kick plates, on the other hand, are metal plates installed at the bottom of a door to protect it from accidental kicks or impacts. They are particularly useful in areas where wheeled equipment, carts, or trolleys are frequently used, such as hospitals, schools, or hotels. These door kick plates not only safeguard the door surface but also enhance its durability and longevity. Furthermore, door plates work in conjunction with specific hinge types, like 2-way swing door hinges or saloon door hinges, enabling doors to swing in both directions.

 

Kick plates can be used on interior or exterior doors.   Brass kick plates are common on exterior doors, adding a decorative element to your exterior doors.
